Cushing’s syndrome due to ectopic ACTH production is extremely rare in childhood. Ectopic ACTH secretion is most often due to tumours in the chest, but rare cases of carcinoid tumours, neuroblastoma, phaeochromocytoma and pancreatic and ovarian carcinoma have been reported.
